welcome!
At Leiden Lacrosse both international and Dutch students and non-students are always warmly welcomed! In fact, it is even possible to join our association for a year or just a semester. Communication during trainings, activities and the newsletter is almost always done in English or a combination of Dutch and English. Below you can read some information about Leiden Lacrosse as well as the experience of an international student. However, you can also get an insight into our association by checking out our Instagram or Facebook page.
If you would like to join our club, simply send an e-mail to our secretary via info@leidenlacrosse.nl or message us on instagram @leidenlacrosse. We look forward to seeing you at our trainings!
ABOUT US
Leiden Lacrosse is the one and only lacrosse sports association in Leiden! The association was established in 2013 and now has two teams. There is a women’s team, the Lynxes, and a men’s team, the Storks. Every Leiden member practices at the Leiden USC on Wednesday 18.00-19.30 and Friday 18:30-20:30 and the men can also train in The Hague on Monday and Wednesday from 20:00-22:00. Apart from the trainings and games, there are also activities such as pub quizzes, date dinners and teams weekends organized by the committees.

Experiences of an international
Sarah, 2017
Let me tell you, joining Leiden Lacrosse is the best thing you could do as a living and breathing organism. No exaggeration: there is no better and faster way to get integrated after moving to a new country. You will be fluent in Dutch-swearing in no time (it’s Dutch culture to know how to best insult the NS train system and the weather). If you don’t speak Dutch, it is not a problem at all! Practice is held in English.
Every player welcomes new players as if they are their newly conceived child. I felt at home from the very first cradle on. Best thing is: you get the healthiest balance of sport and social life! Lacrosse itself is the perfect sport to play as an International because of the amount of cooperation, communication and team-building it requires. So what are you waiting for?
